My client is a large organisation with an active social programme run by a small committee with a reasonable budget. They wanted to do something a bit special for their annual summer party:
The organisation are famous for looking after their staff. They encourage an active social programme for each of their sites. Each site has a budget for socialising and a small committee of around 6 people elected to manage it.
A large percentage of the people working at this particular location are foreign nationals, so they decided this year to run a traditional English village fete. We were engaged to organise this event for the staff and their families.
Using existing contacts and effective negotiation I managed to arrange the following entertainment within a tight budget…
- Morris Dancers
- Circus Show & Workshop
- Magician Show
- Crazy Golf
- Bouncy Castle
- Face Painting
- Gladiator Sparring Game
- Giant Soft Play
- Giant Jenga, Connect 4 and other games
- Craft and Bakery Competitions
- Ice Cream Van
- Staff for the day
- Party Bags
- Decoration for the event (balloons, bunting, etc.)
Everything was going very smoothly until a call from the booked circus troupe at 9pm the night before the event. Amazingly after an hour of phone calls we managed to find a more than adequate replacement.
The day itself went very smoothly and luckily we didn’t have to revert to the ‘inclement weather plan’. It was hailed as the “by far the best event we’ve ever had”.
