Little Windmills is a small pre-school based in the small rural village or Reach in Cambridgeshire. They wanted to establish a brand and a website that they could manage themselves within a tight budget:
Little Windmills was formed in 1989 and now takes children from the age of 2 until they start school at 4 years old. They receive government funding which is supplemented with fundraising events and other grants. They are a registered charity, not run for profit, overseen by a voluntary parent committee.
The key requirement of the website was to be a constantly updated source of news for parents as well as an information resource for potential new attendees. As a not-for-profit charitable organisation budgets were very tight, but all the client’s requirements meant a bespoke solution was required.
We worked with the managing committee to give them what they wanted in a site…
- Built on WordPress as a CMS
- Newly designed template and colour scheme
- Revised logo and strap-line
- Child involvement – i.e. staff profile pictures
- Latest news section
- Lots of photo galleries and parent resources
The committee were pleased with the outcome. Chair, Tania Verdonk said “Jo helped us design, build and manage updates on our new website. We were able to get a flexible, easy to update website that looked like we wanted it to look, with all the features we needed. Jo took all the hard work away from us and we were able to concentrate on the content”.
