Driving sales for tech scale-up through connected, networked marketing

Like many successful tech start-ups, Cambrionix has grown quickly since being founded in a Cambridge garage in 2007, establishing itself as a global leader in mobile device management, thanks to its signature high quality, high speed, smart USB hubs.

But because of that rapid scale-up, the core team was flat out dealing with product development and the day-to-day running of the business, and therefore lacked the bandwidth to focus on marketing.
They felt they could be missing out on new opportunities to engage existing customers and reach new ones, so needed help to manage and deliver these activities. We were only too happy to oblige.

Within a highly technical sector, appealing to a global audience of vastly different organisations across numerous sectors, the challenges of outsourcing on such a wide remit seemed problematic – which is where we stepped in.

Our Solution

As an experienced group of specialist experts, Spirus put together exactly the right agile team to solve Cambrionix’s challenges, all centrally managed and co-ordinated for maximum impact.

First, we worked with the team through a thorough consultation period to identify the best course of action to achieve their goals and agree what elements would be required.

Results

The Cambrionix team is delighted with the impact that working with Spirus has had so far, seeing our hands-on marketing approach translating into tangible lead generation, sales and commercial growth. We have continued to deliver against the KPIs set out up front and we strive to offer innovative and effective ideas to take the business to new heights.

Having agreed all the KPIs up front, we knew we were aiming for quality over quantity in the marketing activities, and the results speak loud and clear. Having spent time working not only on honing the content to be more appealing and relevant to the audience, we also worked on cleansing the database to ensure best fit and accuracy.

Email marketing results after six months showed open rates increase by over 40% and clicks increasing by a whopping 680%, with unsubscribe rates down by over 66% and bounce rate reducing by a huge 94% to under 1%.

LinkedIn results are incredibly promising: followers are already up over 165%, page views up 127.5%, unique visitors up 158.3% and custom button clicks are up over 223%. And since engagement is usually a good indicator of content relevance, it’s worth noting that reactions to posts is up 1510% with post shares up by 514%.

Finally, the YouTube channel we launched is performing well too, with a 35% increase in views in the last 90 days, a 68% rise in view time and a 22% rise in subscribers. It’s early days for this channel but the initial results are right on target.

Perhaps even more pleasingly, the team at Cambrionix continues to feel supported and confident; it’s a great feeling to know we are helping to alleviate stress and be that safe pair (or pairs!) of hands they were so keen to secure. We are responsive and readily available to step in to help with ad hoc projects and love being treated as part of the team.
